Helpful Hints

Use white or light pastel card stock for your tags. NO COLORED card stock.
Colored card stock does not read well through our scanners and really slows down our lines at check out.  Card stock is simply thicker paper (about as thick as an index card) you can purchase it at any office supply or craft store.  You will want to use 8.5 X 11 size sheets so they will feed through your printer easily.  8 tags will print onto 1 sheet.

Be sure your tags bar code is clear.
Your printer should have enough ink so the bar code is not faded and not to much ink where it smears or blends together.  This is very important and will slow down our check-out lines if bar codes are not printed clearly on tags.

Think about the following when you are pricing...
What would you be willing to pay for a comparable item?

Attach the tag directly onto garments using a large safety pins or a tagging gun.  NO STRAIGHT PINS or STAPLES!!

Pin items on the seam with safety pins or tagging gun. NO STRAIGHT PINS or STAPLES.
When possible, pin through a seam so that you don't make or put a hole in the clothing item.  No one wants to purchase an item with a hole in it.

Pin on the upper right side of article as you are looking at it.

When hanging clothes the hanger should look like a question mark.
This helps as customers view the racks of clothes and insures a consistant and organized look.

Items such as onesies sell better if they are hung on hangers instead of in ziplock bags.
If an item is hard to see, it will not sell. We suggest grouping onesies together and hanging them on a hanger. The best way to do this is to put a safety pin through the shoulder seams of the grouped onsies and attaching them to the hanger.  Place the tag on the outside onesie, making sure to indicate the #  included.

Items such as socks sell best as a group in a ziplock bag.
Make sure you indicate the # of socks included on your tag and tape the bag shut.

Be sure all of your items are CLEAN!!! NO STAINS!

STAIN REMOVAL TIPS AND SUGGESTIONS www.fabriclink.com/holidaystain.html

Use Ziploc bags for smaller items.
Ziploc bags help keep a small item from getting lost or overlooked in the shopping process.

Place shoes in Ziploc bags!!! No shoe boxes.
When shoes are in Ziploc bags they are less likely to be seperated from each other.  This also makes it easier for the tag to stay attached to the item. Please tape the bag
shut.

Tape all bags shut.
This protects your item/items from loosing pieces or tags.

Batteries must be in all items that require them.
Shoppers want to know for themselves that the item is in working condition.

When tagging books or cardboard boxes use painters or masking tape.
Packing & scotch tape tends to tear the book or cardboard box.

Make sure your items are seasons!  Remember, we have fall sales and spring sales, so save your out of season items for the next sale.  You will make more $$ on them during the appropriate season and they will have a better chance of actually selling.
